Waterproofing Membrane Means You Dont Have To Replace Concrete

ACM Damp Proof Membrane

Consider an old floor which is showing signs of damp, which is often unsightly and can lead to other problems i.e. damage to floor coverings. One option is to literally dig out the concrete, put down polythene membranes and lay new concrete. The problems associated with this method are numerous; logistic, financial and disruption.

Epoxy damp proof membranes are a simple solution to this problem. A damp proof membrane primer is literally a damp tolerant floor paint with a high cross link density. This means that a damp floor will not affect the product during curing but also once cured the paint is so dense that it lets very little moisture through it.

Once laid an epoxy damp proof membrane may be covered with floor coverings without the risk of damp affecting the floor covering. For a particular project problem where you need advice simply click here to email ACM your question. This product is also suitable on new concrete to minimise residual construction moisture.

ACM offer a product called ACM Damp Proof Membrane which available in three grades; clear, red and grey. This is of particular advantage because the applicator can put down two coats of different colours to easily differentiate between coats. Click here for the data sheet for the ACM product.
