This 1200 square metre old floor was worn, damaged, dirty and oil contaminated after many years regular use. The remedial specification involved shotblasting and hot compressed air burning to remove the contamination, followed by two coats of ACM Penetrating Epoxy Primer.

After the primer had cured overnight, 6mm thickness of ACM Pumpable Floor Screed Px-1 was applied by pump. Half of the floor area was covered in only 2 hours. The screed is simply mixed with water by a pump and the contractor lays the resulting mortar on the floor. A spike roller is used to remove any entrapped air.

After overnight cure the floor was hard and suitable for pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The resulting surface is comparable to concrete in texture and appearance.

Although not always necessary, the customer chose to have the screed painted with the highly durable ACM Epoxicote system. The resulting floor is smooth, very hard wearing and easily cleaned.

Due to storage capacity constraints the customer required the area to be treated in two halves. The difference between before and after is remarkable as seen in the photo. The project was completed exactly to requirements.
