Safety Paint Warehouse Floor
Case Study - ACM Surefoot used in Warehouse
The industrial unit was being completely refurbished including the roof, walls and floor. The client required a non-slip finish to reduce the risks of staff slipping. The product specified was ACM Surefoot which is a two component epoxy paint with non-slip aggregate predispersed in the paint.
The first stage of the process was to shotblast the concrete to provide an open texture to permit complete adhesion of the coating. The edges are usually prepared using a diamond grinder.
Once vacuumed clean, the concrete was then covered with a coat of ACM Surefoot. The contractor opted to apply the paint by use of a squeegee followed by rollering. The squeegee enables faster application rates.
Application by roller is the most typical method but in this case the roller gives the correct texture after use of the squeegee. After overnight cure a second coat was applied to create the full texture.
ACM Surefoot is available in a wide range of colours and provides good chemical resistance. The data sheet is available by clicking the link above.
