Floor paint specification for an antislip system

Herewith a standard specification for installation of a floor coating system suitable to accept heavy industrial forklift traffic whilst providing a nonslip surface. Anticipated wear life is 2-3 years. The cured surface is akin to a fine sandpaper and is suitable for applying over whole areas rather than just ramps or fire escapes. This product is excellent where oil, flour, sawdust and similar materials are encountered to provide a safe working environment for employees.

1) The substrate should be mechanically prepared or have an open textured surface. The subfloor should be free of contamination and be of sound construction.

2) Apply a coat of ACM Surefoot by roller and allow to cure.

3) Apply a second coat of ACM Surefoot and allow to cure.

This system will be suitable for foot traffic after overnight cure and full industrial traffic after two days cure at temperatures of 15°C plus. Leave the floor for 7 full days before exposing to mild chemicals.

Advantages

Solvent free and non-tainting. Tremendous value when calculating cost versus wear life in comparison to competitive products. Does not damage rubber forklift tyres unlike gritted systems.

Disadvantages

Harder to keep clean than a conventional epoxy paint - see ACM Epoxy Dustproofer/Sealer for a smoother surface.
