Floor Screed Specification for Industrial Pumpable Flooring

Herewith a standard specification for installation of a pumpable self smoothing screed to a concrete or screed substrate (not suitable for anhydrite substrates) suitable to accept industrial forklift traffic.

1) The substrate should be mechanically prepared to provide an open textured surface. The subfloor should be free of contamination and be of sound construction.

2) Apply a coat of ACM Primer P1 diluted four parts water to one part Primer P1 and allow to dry.

3) Apply a second coat of ACM Primer P1 diluted two parts water to one part Primer P1 and allow to dry for one hour.

4) Apply 6mm of ACM Pumpable Floor Screed Px-1 by either hand or pump application and allow to dry. Product may be applied up to 20mm per layer.

5) Apply a coat of ACM Epoxy Dustproofer/Sealer and allow to cure overnight.

6) Apply a second coat of ACM Epoxy Dustproofer/Sealer and allow to cure overnight.

This system may suitable for full industrial traffic after overnight cure at temperatures of 15°C plus.

Advantages

Low cost compared to uplifting and relaying concrete. Bright coloured finish, dust free, and the coating has reasonable chemical resistance. Anticipated life span is 10yrs for the screed and 2-3 years for the coating.

Disadvantages

Usually requires installation by a specialist applicator. Contact ACM for details.
